Essential Oils For Your At Home First-Aid Kit

When our boys are not feeling right, hit with injury or a health challenge, as a parent we naturally will do whatever it takes to make them feel well again. Knowing the symptoms and signs is considered wonderful insight. Knowing how to apply powerful, natural and effective modalities to support your child to regain full health is wisdom.
Thousands of years of culture and tradition has proven the healing qualities of plants – and in particular – essential oils. Learning the benefits of essential oils empowers parents to utilise nature’s medicine cabinet to aid in the healing and restorative processes for the whole family.
Here are 4 of our favorite essential oils for the most common conditions families experience to help create an effective low-tox home first-aid kit
1. Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea Tree is one of the most antiseptic of all oils, it is your first aid kit in a bottle. A must-have oil that’s amazing for just about any skin condition, assisting with bacteria, virus and fungus conditions, colds, flu, negativity, rash, acne, pimples and athlete’s foot.
2. Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus is known for its cleansing, energizing, refreshing and easing qualities.  The sinus-opening scent of eucalyptus is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antiviral. Inhaling eucalyptus can help combat allergies and hay fever – try it in an inhaler or in a steam. Mix it with a little carrier oil, along with a drop of oregano oil and rub under the feet just before bed/ Or add it to a bath to ease cold congestion.
3. Lavender Essential Oil
Your first aid kit and dream mom in a bottle! A must-have oil in every home. Grab your lavender essential oil for one of the simplest burn remedies. Apply 1-2 drops of oil directly to the burn to ease pain and prevent scarring. The calming scent also makes it an excellent companion when you’re frazzled at the end of the day.
4. Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint is a must-have for relieving tension and headaches. Not only is the cool, invigorating scent refreshing, but peppermint contains the menthol constituent for clear, deep breathing. Give yourself a quick head massage to ease tension. Combine 5 drops of peppermint with a tablespoon of carrier oil like coconut or almond and massage into the temples and the base of your neck.
