JO MP Dilum Amunugama arrived at TID to give a statement on Kandy violence short while ago.

In connection with the communal violence that took place in the Kandy district in March, Joint Opposition Parliamentarian Dilum Amunagma is asked to appear before the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) today for questioning.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Sinhala extremist group Mahason Balakaya, Amith Weerasinghe, has been further remanded till 28 May along with others who were remanded in connection with the communal riots in Digana, Theldeniya and other parts of the Kandy district.

Over 300 suspects were arrested following the Kandy riots including a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Pradheshiya Sabha member and former member of the armed forces.
