23 SLFP Members Meet Maithree

A special meeting between 23 Sri Lanka Freedom Party Parliamentarians and President Maithripala Sirisena was held yesterday night (15). They discussed about the party’s restructuring and to face upcoming elections.

Another meeting between 16 SLFP opposition parliamentarians and the President is scheduled to be held today (16).

According to SLFP party sources, central working committee meeting is to be convened tomorrow under the Chairmanship of President of the Party Maithripala Sirisena. The issue of whether the SLFP is going to function as partner of the United Front Government or not is expected to be decided tomorrow.
