Artists Receive Monthly Allowance

The government’s initiative to give a monthly allowance for retired artists began.

At a special ceremony held the National Film Corporation auditorium under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (May 15) paying monthly allowance to retired artiste commenced.

Accordingly, 163 artists will receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000 as from April 2018.
