UNP Political Council Members To Be Increased

The United National Party politburo has decided to appoint several additional members to the party’s political council.

At the United National Party politburo meeting, held under the patronage of party leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, it was decided  to appoint several additional members to the party’s political council.

Politburo member Deputy Minister JC Alawathuwala said the relevant list of names will be tabled at the next UNP working committee meeting for it’s approval.

The Deputy Minister noted the additional members will be appointed to support the recently appointed officials with their duties.

Deputy Minister Alawathuwala said two more politburo meetings will be held prior to the next UNP working committee meeting scheduled to be held on the 30th of May in order to make the necessary arrangements.
