Bus Fare Increased to 12.5%

The Ministry of Transport has agreed to increase the bus fares by 12.5% during a discussion held with the private bus unions yesterday evening (May 16).

An agreement was reached to increase the minimum bus fare of 10 rupees to 12 rupees. Above increase is subject to cabinet approval.

Bus Associations said the 6.5% bus fare revision which received Cabinet approval yesterday will now be increased to 12.5%.
