Two Historic Statues Stolen From Jaffna Kovil

Two statues in a historic Kovil situated at the Urumbirai Savier Vidyala ground has been broken into and stolen. The robbery took place between1.30 am and 5.30am yesterday.
Police said that the 2 statues which are dating back to 100 years are valued at around Rs. 200,000.
The police probe began after the complaint lodged by the principal of the school, police carried out investigation and arrested a suspect. At around 11.30 am. Stolen statues were recovered from the suspect.
Arrested suspect, aged 22, is a resident of Urumbirai, He will be produced before court today (May 18).
