Polish National Arrested With 100 Gold Biscuits

A Polish national has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake with 100 gold biscuits valued at around Rs 65 million this morning, the Sri Lanka Customs Spokesman said.

The suspect arrived from Dubai in EK 650 aircraft at 8.50 am today. He was arrested by customs officials at the green channel when he tried to leave the airport.

He attempted to kidnap 100 coins weighing 10kg in his hip area. The total value of gold is estimated at 65 million rupees.
