Postmasters Strike Cripples Letter Distribution

The 48-hour token strike launched by the postmasters from last midnight has affected the distribution of letters and parcels in 653 post offices and 42 satellite offices.
The union’s General Secretary H. K. Kariyawasam said that they would continue the strike for two days.
Convening a media briefing in Kandy yesterday (3), Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Affairs Minister A. H. M. Haleem said that action was being taken to provide solutions to their demands.
