VIP Assassination Plot: DIG Nalaka de Silva interdicted by National Police Commission

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The National Police Commission (NPC) on Wednesday (17) interdicted the former Head of the Terrorism Investigations Department (TID), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nalaka de Silva.

Earlier, the Ministry of Law and Order had proposed to NPC to interdict DIG Nalaka de Silva.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is currently investigating the allegations made by the Operational Director of the Anti-Corruption Movement Namal Kumara that DIG Nalaka de Silva had been allegedly conspiring to assassinate President Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa by using underworld criminal ‘Makadure Madush’ who is absconding Court at the moment.

DIG Nalaka de Silva has already been sent on compulsory leave while a separate inquiry is in progress over the automatic firearms of the Division that had gone missing.
