Highest tax should be imposed on ‘Gal Arakku’

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The highest tax should be imposed on molasses arrack (Gal Arakku) to protect the health of poor villagers, the Minister of Health, Nutrition, and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne stated.

“Any type of alcohol in any quantity is bad for health. It is good that the Finance Minister increased the taxes on alcohol and tobacco,” Senaratne stressed during a media briefing on Sunday (17).
