CID releases Nadeemal Perera [UPDATE]
(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – UPDATE: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) have released Artiste Nadeemal Perera after obtaining a statement.
Nadeemal arrived in Sri Lanka with a Prison Official on Wednesday (27) following their deportation from Dubai.
(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Artiste Nadeemal Perera and a Prison Official, who arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (27) following their deportation from Dubai, are currently being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB).
Nadeemal and his father, popular Artiste Amal Perera were among several prominent figures arrested red-handed with a wanted Sri Lankan underworld drug kingpin, ‘Makandure Madush’ in a raid at a hotel in Dubai.
A large quantity of drugs was recovered from the suspects in the joint operation by the Dubai Police and Sri Lankan Law Enforcement Authorities.
Madush, who is among Sri Lanka’s most wanted criminals, had been evading arrest for the past couple of years.
