Ranil expected to contest Presidential Elections

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Minister of Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage and Kandy Development, Lakshman Kiriella has stated that the Leader of the United National Party (UNP), Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to contest the forthcoming Presidential Elections.

Kiriella made this remarks in response to a question raised by a Journalist during an event held in Kandy.

However, it was previously speculated that either the Deputy Leader of the UNP, Sajith Premadasa or Speaker of the Parliament, Karu Jayasuriya will nominate as the Presidential Candidate of the Party.
