‘Govt. must bring normalcy again’

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) -United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian Wijepala Hettiarachchi says the government has a major role in bringing back normalcy to people’s livelihoods, following the Easter Sunday attacks.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal, the MP said the UNP was not prepared to waste time levelling accusations at other parties.

MP Wijepala Hettiarachchi said the initial phase of granting financial compensation to victims of the Easter Sunday attacks is currently underway.

While admitting to certain faults on the part of the government, MP Hettiarachchi noted all differences must be set aside.

The MP noted the Ministry of Law and Order and the Ministry of Defence is not under the purview of the government.

Parliamentarian Wijepala Hettiarachchi also claimed that all citizens had a greater responsibility in such situations.
