Showers likely in several areas today

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology has forecasted that showers are expected in several areas on Thursday (11).

Atmospheric conditions are still favorable for showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island, particularly Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Polonnaruwa District in the evening or night, the Met. Department stated.

Showers or thundershowers are expected in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western and North-Western Provinces, and in Mannar, Galle and Matara Districts, while showers or thundershowers expected to occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 PM.

Meanwhile, fairly heavy falls about 75 millimetres likely at some places in Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Polonnaruwa District.
