Dr. Shafi produced before Court

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has produced Dr. Seigu Siyabdeen Mohammed Shafi before the Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (11).

He was initially arrested over allegedly accumulating assets via illegal means.

Dr. Shafi earlier filed a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition in the Supreme Court alleging that the allegations levelled against him were false.

The petition stated that the charges including sterilisation allegations were a result of personal dispute which followed from a purchasing of land in Kurunegala.
