Several Ruhuna University faculties reopen today

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Several faculties of the University of Ruhuna in the Wellamadama region which were closed due to ragging and other conflicts will reopen for academic activity today.

Accordingly the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Marine Biology, Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Post-Graduate Studies will recommence academic activities today.

Moreover, the Faculties of Management and Finance will recommence on the 22nd of July, while the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will resume academic activities on the 29th of July.

Several faculties of the University of Ruhuna were closed temporarily from the 10th of June owing to a dispute which intensified among students and several security officers of the university.
