Railway Dept. to launch e-tickets by year end

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Railway Department (SLR) plans to introduce the e-ticketing facility for passengers by the end of this year.

“We expect to operate this e-ticketing service using via, QR code system, smart cards and automatic machines. The usual system of issuing passenger tickets will continue till passengers are familiar with the new system.” SLR General Manager Dilantha Fernando said.
