266  Rounded Up & Arrested

Despite  warning given to the public  not to  dispose garbage in public places , people continued to do it. The operation carried out in Colombo North, Central, South, Nugegoda, Mount-Lavinia, Gampaha, Kelaniya, Negombo and Panadura has resulted in arrest of  266 persons on charges of the illegal disposal of garbage.

As per Police Headquarters ,  Army personnel were dispatched alongside Police officers to carry out the operation.

The statement further noted cases will be filed against the arrested individuals by respective Police divisions.
