Indian Beefed up Security in Tiruchi Ahead of President’s Departure

President Sirisena is arriving in Tiruchi around 1:45pm for a transit stop at  Goa where he was attending the BRICS- BIMSTEC outreach summit. In view of this Security has been beefed up at the Tiruchi International Airport today.
The President will be accompanied by a 25-member delegation from Goa.
Upon his arrival the President would be given a red carpet welcome as per protocol.
 President Sirisena will be escorted in a bullet-proof car to a terminal building where he would be for two hours in the VIP lounge.
The President will then leave for Colombo around 3.30pm along with the Lankan delegation.
India media said anti-sabotage teams have already been deployed in  the airport, while other teams will mount surveillance.
