Wimal Gave up Fasting (UPDATE)
Reports received just now said, that MP Wimal Weerawansa has given up his fasting. It is relevant to mentioned that he was on fasting as from 22nd March 2017 taking only water .

Wimal in National Hospital(UPDATE)
Wimal Weerawansa MP was arrested on 10th January 2017 and remanded for alleged misuse of 40 state vehicles belonging to the state Engineering Corporation causing a loss of Rs 90 million to the state . He was produced in more than one occasion and continued to be remanded.
Two bail applications submitted in Colombo Magistrate Court and Colombo High Court respectively were rejected. His other option is to make an application to the Supreme Court. Instead, he went on hunger strike as from 22nd March 2017 in Magazine prison , demanding his release . Releasing him on bail at this time will amount to violation of fundamental Justice said, JVP. As his condition on the 8th day was deteriorating , on prison doctor’ s advise he was taken to the National Hospital yesterday. There was tension during his transfer to the National Hospital. Supporters gathered in the National Hospital created tension. However, he has been admitted and continuously monitored by doctors. Police and prison officials have been deployed to ensure his security at the hospital.
