North South Dialogue Through ‘Puravesi Athwela’ Humanitarian Train’ Tomorrow

The Presidential Secretariat in collaboration with the Railway Department have jointly organized a special train  journey  under the caption ‘’Puravesi Athwela’ humanitarian train’’, to collect relief material to be distributed to those who were affected by the recent floods and landslides.
The needs of the affected people’s relief items are : Kitchen utensils, cleaning equipment, dry rations, clothes for school children and adults, bed sheets, pillow covers, towels, women’s sanitary products, mosquito nets, Dettol, Harpic and soap, medical drugs, school stationery, toys and books for libraries.
The special train will leave the Kankesanturai Station tomorrow (10) at 6.30 a.m. and will stop at Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Madawachchiya, Anuradhapura, Maho, Ganewatta, Kurunegala, Polgahawela, Alawwa, Ambepussa, Meerigama, Veyangoda, Gampaha, Ganemulla, Ragama, Hunupitiya, Kelaniya, Dematagoda, Maradana, Colombo Fort, Mount Laviniya, Moratuwa and Panadura.
Those who are interested in providing relief items  can call at the respective railway stations and hand over it. Collected items will be distributed among the affected people, the President’s Media Division said.
