President Recollects How He Wrote G.C.E A/L Exam hand Cuffed

During an event, President Maithreepala recollected that he was arrested and detained at the age of 19. I was forced to spend my time in the worst prison for 1 ½ years. Although he had nothing to do with the 1971 J.V.P insurrection, he was arrested and prisoned. In the year 1972, he was compelled to sit for the G.C.E. A/L examination   with the hand cuffs.
