President  Insists Unchanged  National Policy on  Expressways

President Maithripala Sirisena  attention was drawn  to alleged discrepancies taken place during the construction of the Southern Expressway and the Central Expressway. The President advised relevant Road Development Authority  officials to respond to the allegations transparently.

Hence, while speaking at the progress review meeting at the Road Development Authority  yesterday, President insisted  that an unchanged  national policy on expressways should be prepared.

Further, President  also tasked officials of the Road Development Authority  to present a plan for the construction of a highway or a high quality main road that would connect the Eastern Province with Colombo.
