Wife Signed Surely Bail for Her Husband Ended up in Jail

In Balangoda area. 24 year old Sepalika Samanmali, a mother of two children signed Rs 100,000 surety bail to get her husband released from remand prison in connection with an attack case.

 After he was released from the remand prison, he disappeared from the area, cut off all connections with the family. He has not returned to the house since then.

When the case was taken up in the absence of the suspect husband, she was ordered to be jailed for 6 months jail term.

 Villagers say that no one is there to look after the abandoned children.  If Rs 100,000 could be paid, she will be able to get back home and feed the children.
