Immediate relief to be provided

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Vavuniya District Secretary S.M. Saman Bandulasena said that all arrangements have been made through the Divisional Secretaries and Grama Niladharis to inform the public about the possible effect of the cyclonic system and to provide them immediate relief.

He was speaking at a media briefing held at the Vavuniya District Secretariat yesterday following a special meeting with officials in the area of the measures that need to be taken in light of effects of the cyclonic storm.

He further stated that the District Secretariats have already received the necessary funds for the disaster situation and therefore it will not be an obstacle to provide immediate relief.
