Death of a youth in the hands of Police created hornestness. While Police said that he jumped out of upstairs and died, relatives claimed that he was pulled down from upstairs by Police and killed. On complaint made to the Human rights Commission, a special team had gone to Embilipitiya to conduct the investigations yesterday (18th), sources said.Human Rights Commission had recorded statements regarding the incident from the residents of the area.
Human Rights Commission Sri Lanka sources said that police officers who were accused of causing the death of Embilipitiya youth had been summoned before Human Rights Commission to obtain statements.
Decision of the Commission will be made Public once the police officers’ statements recorded and investigation completed .
