Cancell Dowry System – JVP Wimal Ratnayake

Wimal Ratnayake addressed a meeting in Matara on Lovers Day. He said , younger generation is struggling to find employment opportunities. Young lovers find it difficult to get married to their loves ones. Although we boast about development in the modern times , we still hang on to old Orthodox dowry system. Quite a number of females are left without marriage due to lack of dowry. Hence, this system should be abolished in our society. Demanding dowry is a shameful act ,he said.
