Police Chief has organized the transfers with immediate effect owing to service requirements of the relevant stations.
Accordingly, 9 Officer-in-Charges (OICs) have been transferred. Police Headquarters have stated that the Welikada OIC has been transferred to the Supply Divison of the Police HQ. The OIC of the Police FCID has been transferred as the OIC of Welikada.
The new OICs have been appointed to Payagala, Wattegama, Badulla, Weeragula, Pannala and Biyagama stations.

Police transfers announced
Five Police Officer-in-Charges (OICs) had been transferred with immediate effect under the instructions of Police Chief on service requirements, the Police sources stated.
Accordingly, Embilipitiya Headquarters Police Inspector (IP) R. Witharana had been transferred to Mount Lavinia Division, Kuttigala OIC J. Dias to Embilipitiya and Police Inspector W. Alahakoon from Police Field Headquarters to Kuttigala.
Meanwhile, Katana Acting OIC T. Senaratne and Sigiriya Acting OIC W. Ratnayake had been appointed as the OICs of their respective divisions.
