Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala along with the Deputy Chairman of Committees MP Selvam Adaikkalanathan yesterday(3) commenced analyzing the CCTV footage to apprehend the responsible for the brawl in the Parliament.
Results of the investigation would be tabled today(4) in Parliament enabling the Party Leaders to take action against those who were in the brawl. “The members have clearly violated the Standing Orders. They are not allowed to come to the main isle for any reason. They have also disregarded the Speaker’s direct orders. It is very unfortunate to see a fellow member getting wounded inside the Parliament,” he said.
Assuring media the CCTV footage is now in his custody and it would not go missing Deputy Speaker said: “Terrorism is not what we would allow in the Parliament.
