Major-General Sumith Manawadu in Colombo National Hospital

Major-General Sumith Manawadu has sustained life threatening injuries after a wooden beam suddenly collapsed on him at a construction site, it was reported.  Sumith Manawadu was the officer who arrested former army commander and common candidate Sarath Fonseka after the Presidential Election 2010. Later he was appointed as the Deputy High Commissioner for Malaysia as well. 
However he has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital today(4), short while ago. The Major-General is undergoing a surgery at the moment, the official  said.
