Last night a fire that had broken out on a line of houses in Galpella in Puvakgodamulla in Badulla destroyed Fourteen houses.
Badulla Municipal Council fire brigade, the residents and the police had jointly doused the fire, reports received by us confirmed.
No one has been reported killed, the cause for the fire is yet to be identified.
In the meantime, the fire that erupted at the Mahamewna Asapuwa Kanda in Kumbulwela, Badulla continues to spread.
Police said that about 2000 acres had by now been destroyed by the fire. However police said ,that no damage has been caused to the rooms of the Mahamewna Meditation Centre rooms situated close by.
