Supreme Court Suspends and Given Interim Order on VAT increase

The supreme court has taken up the VAT case filed by National Freedom Front Leader, Wimal Weerawansa today. The Supreme Court after hearing the submissions made by both parties, determined that the increase on VAT from 11% – 15% be suspended with immediate effect. This is only an interim order.
