Missing Person’s Office Will be Established – Rajitha

Speaking during the weekly Cabinet media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday, Government Spokesmen Minister Senaratne said, the government will definitely establish the Office on Missing Persons.
Further he said, it is the responsibility of the government to provide solutions to the issues faced by the families of the missing persons.
He said, the government should either provide death certificate or investigations must be carried out regarding persons  reported to have been missing.
Minister Rajitha Senaratne said former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is understandably alarmed over the matter.
Minister Senaratne said MP Rajapaksa is likely to be exposed and as such he is concerned about the formation of the Office on Missing Persons.
However the Health Minister said the Office on Missing Person is only a proposal at present and the details will be revealed following the cabinet draft.
