A Committee to Look Into Basic Facilities of Prisoners

A high powered committee led Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and prison reform Minister Swaminathan ooked into the basic requirements of prisoners in the country.  The committee comprised of sectaries to the Ministry of Justice, Defence Secretary, Prison reform ministry Secretary and commissioner of prison. The committee is considering remittance of sentences of Prisoners to ease prison congestion.
