The Prime Minister said even though he has an issue with the verdict, he would not challenge the Supreme Court. Premier Wickremesinghe said he would not table a no-confidence motion against the Chief Justice.
He said he will follow the directives issued by the Supreme Court. Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe said he is safeguarding the laws enacted during Mahinda Rajapaksa’s term.
He said if the present government is wrong it is willing to correct its mistakes. However he said if the opposition feels Mahinda Rajapaksa has challenged the Constitution, they must table an impeachment motion against Mahinda Rajapaksa at least now.
