The mother of a child had complained that the supervisor of the exam centre at the Welihena primary school in Akuressa, Matara had failed to provide sufficient facilities for the child, despite directions to provide special facilities to the child was handed over to the supervisor after being signed by the deputy education commissioner. However the complaint stated that her child was not provided with required facilities.
In response , Education commissioner , W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara said that regardless of the circumstances, sitting for the Grade 5 scholarship examination is a right all children of the country are entitled to.
The Education commissioner added he had called for a report on this regard.
