Gammanpila’s Petition Final Hearing Today

The final hearing of the petition filed by United People’s Freedom Alliance,  MP Udaya Gammanpila against the postponement of the Local Government Election will be taken up today (13).

The case will be heard at the Supreme Court. Several respondents have been named in the petition including the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils and the Elections Commissioner. The petition calls for an order to hold the Local Government election promptly.
