The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) yesterday required the Auditor General’s Department to promptly submit a detailed report on the controversial digitization project of the People’s Bank.
The PB Board appeared before COPE yesterday and was questioned at length about the entire digitization process. COPE sources said the Committee had not been convinced with the replies given by the PB Directors, who had stuck to their statement that it had not spent any money on the process to date.
COPE also requested the PB Board of Directors to hand over all the documents related to the case to the Auditor General.
COPE had also asked the AG’s Department to call for a probe into the incident at ministerial level before submitting a report to it within two weeks.
