Issuing a communiqué, the Presidential Media Division said, that the President’s attention has been drawn to the expenditure of an excessive amount of money for the Central Provincial councilors’ tour to Russia. President is not aware of this foreign tour and heavy expenditure.
Hence, President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed, as from the beginning of 2017, approval of the Public Treasury should be obtained for provincial councilors planning to go overseas to participate in study tours.
