Price Reduction on 47 drugs to be Gazetted Next week

The Health Minister , Rajitha Senaratne has decided to release the gazette notification to reduce the prices of 47 drugs under the National Drug Policy.

Accordingly the National Drug Policy will consider  the prices charged by large scale  as well as small scale pharmacies before arriving at the new prices to be gazetted.

As a first step  price reduction  on 47  drugs   consumed   by public for various ailments including  Diabetes, and Anemia  will be introduced.

If any pharmacy  or organization  attempt to  create  artificial  shortage  of drugs   due to this price reduction,  Ministry is   prepared  to  face it.
