Former Army Commander Daya Ratnayake Summoned to Presidential Commission

Former Army Commander Daya Ratnayake was  summoned to the Presidential Commission  short while ago,  despite President’s observation made on calling Military Commanders  for inquiry . Presidential Commission on Bribery and corruption wants    to  record a statement in connection with the misappropriation of Rs. 50 million  incurred just prior to 2015 Presidential Election. This Rs 50 million had been paid from the funds of  TRC , which was approved by the  Chairman , TRC  cum   Former President ‘s Secretary Lalith Weerathunga  and  Director  General  of TRC  Anusha Palpitta This fund of 50 million had been deposited in the Srilanka Army’s account under the pretext of distributing building materials to people,  who  were affected   by flood in Kurunagala in  Eastern Province.
