A Week of National Mourning Declared by the Government

Pandit W.D.Amaradeva contributed a lot  to the Sinhala music.  He died yesterday (3), at the age of 88 .

A week   of national mourning was declared by the Government yesterday to honour late Pandit W.D.Amaradeva. Further a  state  funeral  is arranged .   His remains will be at  Independence Square to pay  public their last respect from  today.

Last rites of Mr. Amaradeva will  be held with full state honours  at  Independence Square tomorrow.
