India has declared that Indian Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes were invalid as from midnight on 8th November 2016. Followed by this announcement, Central Bank of Srilanka and State Bank of India in Srilanka announced that Indian Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes shall not be accepted for money exchange in Srilanka.
Any one in possession of Indian Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes are compelled to undertake a trip to India to exchange this money.
