Nearly 654 houses and buildings were reported destroyed by the fire and explosions at the Salawa Army Camp on the 5th of June 2016.
Locating Arms and Ammunition dump in residential areas was condemned by the public.
The Ministry of Disaster Management said, it has completed reconstructing 2,031 houses which were damaged from the Salawa explosion.
Furthermore, the Ministry said it is carrying out the program to provide sanitary facilities to those displaced from the fire and explosion in Salawa.
Although, the government says it has completed paying compensation of 875 million rupees to those affected in the fire and explosion at the Salawa Army Camp in Kosgama, the compensation fee for damaged household items will be paid in the near future.
