Protest Against Transforming Uva Paranagama Base Hospital Into a Regional one

The Governments move to transform the area base hospital into a regional one  is  resisted by the   Residents. Health Minister and other officials  were expected  to participate  in a discussion. But  their not turned up for the discussion Residents who waited to register their protest got frustrated. Hence,  they launched a protest blocking the Welimada- Uva Paranagama road for nearly three hours creating a tense situation.
