Navy fail to locate fishermen after several search operations
Fisheries Department Assistant Director Lal De Silva stated that search operations are underway to locate the three fishermen who went missing off the coast of Tangalle.
The Sri Lankan Navy and Air Force conducted the search operations upon instruction of the Fisheries Department but as of yet have not been able to find out what has happened.
The fishermen had ventured out to sea on the 25th of June and were expected to return the following day. The last known location of the fishermen was 50 -60 Nautical miles off the coast.
Lal De Silva further stated that the Fisheries department would inform foreign countries for information regarding the missing fishermen.
