Changes in Political & Economic Fields in 2017

State Finance  Minister , Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena called  for a press conference in his office . In this conference he said,   although the war was brought to an  end,  Srilanka has to face several challenges. Economic blockage  and war crimes inquiry   are two   issues  Srilanka Government  found it difficult to tackle.
While this is the  situation , one MP   has recently said,  that we don’t want  a President  who bent down to  International Community  . But the  President has neither bent down nor  antagonized  the International community . He has  faced  the challenge in an strategic manner .  By introducing 19th amendment  to the constitution  he won’t  the respect of the international community .  Further  fishing ban imposed by European Union  is now removed.  Steps have been taken to restore GSP +  . In Parliament ,  UNP as well as SLFP  call  equal  82 seats. With the help of other parties UNP was able to  increase its  number  to 106 while SLFP  increased  it to 90  . Although SLFP and UNP have their  own different policies , for the  common benefit of the country both parties have  joined and formed  the national Government.
In the year 2017  President will be compelled to take certain decision  which in effect  reflect  important changes in the political and economic fields .
