If Lottery Agents Continued to Boycott Sales New Agents Will be Appointed – Ravi

Speaking to the media in Colombo, Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake said,  lottery agents’ protests against the government’s decision  to increase  the price of  lottery tickets  from Rs 20 to Rs 30  per ticket  was unacceptable. The Minister said the increase is to provide more winning opportunities for the public. The Minister also said the agents were being paid an adequate commission with other benefits.
However, the lottery agents continue to boycott  sale of  lottery tickets  during the last two days.
Ravi Karunanayake warned that the government will be compelled to appoint new agents in their place,  if the lottery agents continue to stay away from sales.
