Sri Lanka Medical Council Obtaining Legal Advice

The Sri Lanka Medical Council is in the process of obtaining legal advice, in order to decide on the future actions to be taken in relation to the Court verdict issued in connection with the SAITM case.
The SLMC said,  that a decision will be taken on filing a petition in the Supreme Court against the verdict handed down by the Appeals Court. The Appeals Court recently ordered that, since the Malabe Private Medical College has the legal authority to award a Medical Degree, steps should be taken to register those students at the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
However, the SLMC  has to meet and decide on implementing the relevant verdict and it is due to meet again on 17th  February 2017 .
The SLMC  said that, a decision will be taken on the legal advice they receive regarding the verdict on the SAITM case.
